So Much Fun, It Shouldn't Be Legal!

Last year we did our best to stimulate the economy. Apparently we failed, but that didn't stop us from trying again this year. I thought that I'd write this as a "by the numbers" post, since I love reading them.

1 - The number of times one of us got "hit on."
2 - The number of hours we spent in Toys R Us.
3 - The number of specific items that I intended to buy, but totally forgot.
4 - The number of items I had to return.
4 - The number of pictures I took. Hey, we had serious shopping going on!
6 - The number of phone calls I got, and only two were from Jay.
6 - The number of exhausted feet.
7 - The number of ibuprofen we collectively consumed.
11 - The number of years we've been shopping together on Veteran's Day.
14.5 - The number of hours our shopping trip lasted.
16 - The number of chargers that Sabrina bought (she only needed 8 & almost bought 24!).
47 - The number of times I said "I just can't focus today."
363 - The number of days until our next shopping trip.
1,289 - The number of times Christy & Sabrina laughed at me. Seriously.
1,657 - The number of laughs we shared, give or take.

I didn't get a picture of Sabrina's car before we divided out our bags, but I did get pictures of every one's cars after they loaded their stuff up.

A Pink Ballerina Party

Hailey turned three on the 18th and we celebrated her birthday this past Saturday. When I asked Hailey what kind of birthday party she wanted I expected her to say something like Dora or Disney Princess. Nope. She said that she wanted to have a "pink ballerina party". That girl seriously loves pink. The weather was beautiful so we were able to have the party on our deck, which saved me a little bit of house work. But caused a whole lot of much needed yard work!

We had all pink food, cupcakes, Strawberry Milkshake Oreos, strawberries, chips & salsa and pink lemonade. I shaped pink ballet slippers out of pink fondant for the top of the cupcakes.

Hailey was funny opening her presents. When she'd start to open one we'd ask "who is that one from?" she'd say "me". All of her gifts were big hits, but she really LOVED the make-up set that the Sprinkles gave her. By the way, thanks a lot Chirsty!

Maddie was cute twirling around in her ballet skirt.

It was a fun day celebrating Hailey!

There are lots more pink pictures at jacksonandhailey.com!

Christmas Get-Togethers!

I love this time of year!
Despite how exhausted I become and how busy we are, I love all the actives around Christmas!

Saturday the 6th was the Christmas parade and we rode on the Community Bank and Trust float (it was unbelievable cold). I think that Hailey stuffed more candy in her pockets than she threw out!

We went to the Community Bank and Trust kids party on the 7th. They hire a local magician and follow up with Santa. This year Sabrina got "asked" to help with a trick!
On Tuesday the 9th we went to the big Community Bank and Trust Christmas party. They have had it at the Runway Fishhouse for the last several years.
Thursday the 11th Jackson's Cub Scout Pack went to Habersham Retreat to sing Christmas carols and pass out Christmas cards that they made. He's just too cute in his uniform!

Friday the 12th we got together with the Sprinkles and McMullans for our annual supper and let the kids exchange gifts. This was also the evening of the incident with the Nerf gun and Turner.

On Saturday (the 13th if you've lost track) I went to Sarah's cookie exchange. Everyone had to bake 10 dozen cookies and package them in half dozen bags. I used a small star cookie cutter because I couldn't find my large one, I'm sure it's in a bag with playdough somewhere. Because my cookies were smaller (and I had 463 of them) I put a dozen in each bag.

Saturday night our Sunday School class went to the Dillard House for supper. I ate waaaay too much! But it was lots of fun, with great fellowship and an "exciting" bus ride!
Tonight was the Camp Agape supper at church. Hailey and I didn't make it because she has strep throat. YUCK!

Congratulations Christy!

Christy left the 100th comment on my blog!

As promised, she wins a special gift..........

This adorable Christmas ornament! (And it was extremely expensive too!)

I hope that more of you leave comments, more often........you never know when I'll have an urge to give something else away!

Thanks Christy!

Ahhhh.........Shopping Bliss

For 10 years Sabrina, Christy and I have gone on our annual Christmas shopping trip. In 1998, when we were all working at Habersham Bank, we would take the Veteran's Day holiday and make a girl's day of it. No husbands, no kids....true shopping bliss! This is no small trip, we leave around 8:00 AM and we're usually gone for 13+ hours! You do not want to get in our way either! We can get wild and rowdy, once we even had a run in with "the law". I'm serious when I say "don't get in our way".

While Sabrina can do her part to help boost the economy, Christy and I are usually the "big" spenders. The only reason that Sabrina doesn't do more is because she is so good that she already has most of her Christmas shopping done!

This year Sabrina drove (we try not to let Christy drive anymore!). Here is the back of her car... and we made two more stops after this! We just had to shove bags in and slam the door!

I think that Christy wants a wii for Christmas!
We came home happy, tired and broke! I can't wait until next year!

TAGGED!

Wow! I've been tagged! What fun!
I was tagged by Sarah to write seven random things about myself.
Here they are:

1. My favorite food is anything Italian! I could eat pasta every night, and would if I could get away with it with Jay and the kids.
2. Like Sarah, I love to vote! I was so excited this morning to be headed to the polls. I even said so to Jay as we were pulling out of the driveway, he gave me a weird look. Even though I could have voted early I liked the idea of going to cast my ballot on election day.
3. I think that Jay and Rod Stewart are totally HOT!
4. I love the fall. I love taking long car rides to go "leaf looking".
5. I'm VERY clumsy! I fall down, drop things and run into stuff ALL of the time.
6. I love to cruise Target.
7. I probably should not list this one, because then Jay will know......I really do like to fish. Especially fly fishing for bream. I haven't been able to go much since having kids.....someone has to take care of them you know. But when I have to pee or its cold I'm ready to GO.

Since the only "bloggers" I know were already tagged by Sarah the 7 people that I'm tagging HAVE two options:
A) Start blogs of their own (which is what I'm really hoping for!) OR
B) Leave their seven things in the comments
They are:
Alice
Amanda
Christy
Erin
Monica P.
Monica W.
Sabrina
