Busy, Busy, Busy

It’s been a really busy week! Not that we’ve done much. I guess its just getting into the swing of things with school starting back & getting back into regular routine.

Last Sunday we went to a “Back to School Celebration”, I’m pretty sure only parents would celebrate that. The kids had a great time watching Kyle’s magic show. He’ really great and I think that this is about the fifth or sixth time that we’ve seen him.

Monday Jackson started Homework Center. It’s been WONDERFUL! He’s enjoyed spending the afternoon with friends. They have a snack, play games and play on the playground. When he starts to have actual homework they’ll help him with it. It’s been great for me too. (Yes Wanda, as we all know, it’s all about me anyway!) Jackson was coming to the shop every afternoon. He’d spend two hours whining about having to write or not liking anything that we had for a snack. By the time we would get home I was ready to bathe him and put him to bed. And 5:45 is just too early; he’d never sleep all night!

We’ve been up late watching the Olympics every night. So I’ve been a walking zombie everyday. I mentioned in my last post that Hailey loves the gymnastics, but Jackson wants to learn to play volley ball.

Friday night we went to the Relay for Life. Jay walked while I watched Jackson jump and slide in the big inflatable things. He kept me going between the two of them. Hailey wanted to jump, but when she got in and there were so many bigger kids she was out of there. Jackson wanted to see the clown and get a balloon animal. The clown freaked Hailey out! I’m amazed at how many people so close to us have been affected by cancer.
I thank God daily for their continued health.

Another note about MC: He is the walking, talking, breathing 16 years that Jay & I have been together, he was born one week after our first date! OH, MY! Now I officially feel old!

Now there is a serious pile of laundry calling my name. We may not have folded and put anything away in over a week, but at least its been clean! So, if you don’t hear from me for a while just know that eventually I’ll have to come up for air from the towels, socks & underwear! But hey, at least the bed is made, somewhere under there!
